You can buy the course here! Each weekly course has different prompts and helpful hits to help you complete the challenge. I think it’ll be fun! If you will be doing this challenge with me leave a comment and I will be sure to check out your photos!

Without further delay, here is week two: “Guilty Pleasures”

Guilty pleasures are a hard thing for me to capture because I really don’t have any! I have no shame in the things I like to do, music I listen to, or movies/tv shows I watch. One thing that always cheers me up on a bad day is a new project! My apartment is filled with homemade stuff! I tell all my new guests, if it looks homemade it probably is!

See you next week 🙂

New Flair Collection: Enamel Pins

I think I’m jumping on the flair band-wagon a little late, but at first I didn’t get it! I know that statement sounds a little weird. “What do you mean you don’t get it?! They are pretty!” Well, yes, they are, but I felt like I was still missing something.

Then it came to me! I actually started collecting enamel pins when I was younger…guitar shaped ones from different Hard Rock Cafes. I have over 25 pins from different Hard Rocks that either I have visited or my Papa Bear has visited on our travels. What if I got pins that signify different events in my life. That was my “ah ha!” moment.

Heart Sunnies.

These heart shaped sunnies represent 2016 and how awesome of a year it has been. I can’t believe it is halfway over! I do wear glasses all the time and I thought this pin was a good representation of the saying “This is My Year!”

Here are the ones I am scouting to add to my collection next:

1. Camper. 2. Badger. 3. Latte Heart. 4. Dream Machine. 5. Adventure Globe.

I won’t bore you with why I want each of these pins. Of course, my next purchase you will know about! There is a ton of space on my bag for more!

What are some of your favorite websites to shop for pins? I’m obsessed now!

Capture Real Life: Week One

A Beautiful Mess released this course called Capture Real Life in 52 Weeks last year. I purchased this E-Course over a year ago and never got around to completing it.

One of my birthday goals in 2014 was to document my life more, and I have been making a valiant effort. I started making my monthly albums and sharing more on Instagram. Now I think I need to challenge myself. I think this course will be a fun way to do that!

Each week I will be sharing the photos I take from the course work. I will not be sharing the content – only the weekly challenge. Want to complete this challenge with me?? You can buy the course here! Each weekly course has different prompts and helpful hits to help you complete the challenge. I think it’ll be fun! Explore Pittsburgh: Randyland!

Explore Pittsburgh PA Randyland Travel Pennsylvania (6)

Hello Sunshine! You look like a million bucks today!

I don’t think I can call myself a post-college graduate anymore since I graduated college over three years ago. I think I have to consider myself a “young professional.” Whatever label society wants to give me, doesn’t matter because I’m an adventurer! Did you know that you don’t need a million bucks to travel? (I certainly don’t have a million dollars lying around)

I love taking day trips whenever I can. I went and visited my friend in Pittsburgh one day and she took me to this really cool place called Randyland. It’s a fun art museum located on the Northside of Pittsburgh in the Mexican War Streets district. Admission is free, however donations are always welcome.

I could have spend all afternoon there!

Unfortunately, Randy himself was not there, I would have loved to talk to him for hours! That’s okay! Another reason to go back, right?

I was fascinated with these painted doors! So inspiring! I wanted to take one home and use it as my front door!

I can’t wait to go back. I thought this was a great find my friend discovered. And to think, for a five dollar donation we spent so much time just looking around. I know that may sound a little boring, but it was such an inspiring place! There was a woman there who was painting who told us she goes there every day and just paints. I could totally understand! Just looking at these photos makes me want to get up and make something!

Thank You for Sharing!!

Good Morning!!

I’m trying to make a better effort to get back into sharing my experiences! I’m sure all you part time bloggers know that it is a juggling act between a day job, personal life, and the hours needed to create a meaningful blog.

I was reading through my referral links and came across two pages that shared my DIY Pizza Pillow, and I just wanted to say: Thank you!!

Thank you DIY for Teens and Sewing Rabbit! This is why I blog! I want to create sharable content to which others can be inspired!

It seriously made my day! Thank you again!

Explore my Etsy: Handmade Dream Catchers

A couple months ago, I turned my Etsy shop into vacation mode to prep for new products for the summer. Over the next couple weeks, I want to share the story of each of my new products! Up first: Handmade Dream Catchers!

I always wanted to learn how to make a dream catcher, but it looked so complicated! Now, there is this really cool website called Pinterest (have you heard of it??) where you can literally search for any craft ever and you are bound to fins a free tutorial! Low and behold, after two minutes of searching, I found a great tutorial on how to make a dream catcher. It was a lot easier than I anticipated it to be!

IMG_2029

I am all about using my stash. Each one of these dream catchers are made 100% of materials in my craft closet. At one point in time I purchased the materials for one project or another. Now they are recycled into these pretties!

IMG_2031

I wanted to have a theme for each dream catcher. Now, I will be honest that the name for them came after I made them, but there was still planning!

IMG_2037

I have so much fun making these! I still have so many materials left and at least five more dream catchers planned out! I also take customer orders.

Enjoy!

25 before 26: One year in iPhone photos!

I started this tradition in 2014 when I turned 24. I made a list of things I wanted to do before I turned 25, and I did not do as well as I thought. I seriously thought I was going to do so much better this year. Overall, I am very happy with what I accomplished!

Here’s how I did:

1. Puxatomy Phil (didn’t wake up in time/couldn’t get off work)

2. Homemade Sushi
I’ll give myself this one. I didn’t make sushi, but I did make pot sitckers! Complete with bamboo steamer, which is only $20 bucks at Bed, Bath and Beyond!

IMG_2724[1]

3. Crafty Mart
I will also give myself this one. I applied to Crafty Mart, but sadly was not accepted. However, everything happens for a reason. The next day after I got my reject email, I got a DM from a friend that she was having a show the same day! I applied and totally got in! I had SO much fun, and also learned A LOT!

I have been doing WAY more for myself. The biggest thing this year was exploring places outside of Akron. I’ve been hanging out in Cleveland a lot more, and I seriously LOVE this city.
Last year I accomplished 11, this year I accomplished 12. Moving in the right direction. Goal for 2016/2017: 15!

Birthday Tradition: 26 Things Before 27

Three years going, here is my 26 things to do before I turn 27!

image

Hey everyone! It’s that time of the year again! I will now consider this a tradition as this is my third year making this list. Each year for my birthday, I make a list of things to try before my next birthday. I started it when I turned 24, with a list of 24 things before 25, and then made a second one of 25 things before 26. This is my third time making this list, so without further delay…here are 26 things to do before I turn 27!

image

1. Finish my monthly albums
2. Read five books
3. Take a vacation – a real vacation
4. Start a new collection
5. Explore three new national parks
6. Take a class
7. Send 100 pieces of mail
8. Climb a mountain

image
9. Make my own holiday card
10. Host Christmas
11. Make $200 selling my crafts
12. Get back into blogging
13. Attend two craft shows
14. Sew one piece of clothing
15. Play mini golf
16. Exercise once a week
17. Buy a bike
18. Camp

image

19. Visit a volcano
20. Explore a cave
21. Ride a train
22. Make something out of bottle caps
23. Invent a new game
24. Beer Olympics
25. Beach volleyball
26. Make myself happy!

I went a little more realistic this year. I usually make stretch lists that push myself a little, but seeing how I did this past year with my 25 list, I was pushing myself too hard.

Do you ever make a list? If you did, what would be on it?

Instax Mini 90 Polaroid Camera

One of my favorite birthday gifts ever!!

Homemade Handmade Instax Mini 90 Polariod Camera Photography (6)

Hey Everyone! Can you believe that it is June already?!? I certainly can’t! The end of May brings my birthday, (I realized slowly I had at least three posts that I need to write about my birthday) and I was no where near ready for the end of the month. More on that topic later…

For my birthday, Pat bought me probably one of my favorite gifts ever (aside from the always appreciated cash and Jo-Ann’s gift cards): Instax Mini 90 Polaroid Camera!

image

image

I’ve had a Polaroid camera in the past, it was an old one I found at the thrift store then once the film ran out I didn’t buy more because it was too expensive.

I’ve debated for MONTHS about buying a Polaroid, but there was always something I wanted more (and my iPhone was doing the job). On Saturday, Pat surprised me and bought me one! (after listening to me talk about it at least once a week)

Homemade Handmade Instax Mini 90 Polariod Camera Photography (3)
I haven’t fully experimented with the camera yet, but I’ve figured out a few features such as the double exposure.

Homemade Handmade Instax Mini 90 Polariod Camera Photography (4)
This feature allows you to take two photos and mash them together. I didn’t have a lot of success with this feature, but I could think of some ideas for the future!

Homemade Handmade Instax Mini 90 Polariod Camera Photography (5)
It also has a self timer and controlled flash. I LOVE the way these pictures come out! The film isn’t all that expensive. (and I think I got an email for a Groupon?) Overall, I am in love! ::insert heart eyes emoji::

Blog Update #8

Hey Everyone!

IMG_0053

So, it’s been a while. Like a while…

I’m not going to make one of those boring posts of why I haven’t been here. I’ve been spending a lot of time focusing on myself these past few weeks.

IMG_0287

I’m going to take a short hiatus for the month of April. I have become a little off track with my planning over the past few weeks. I need to take some time, regroup, and get back to you!

Don’t miss me too much! I may pop back once a week. No promises!
