Dress up your wall with this easy yarn decoration!
If you guys don’t know by now, my two passions are budget projects and homemade anything! I saw this post a few weeks ago for DIY Macrame Yarn Garland. I loved this easy idea! I was inspired by this idea and gave it my own twist!
Here is what you will need:
Various colors of yarn
Tape (no specific kind!)
Project Time: 2-3 hours
Project Difficulty: Easy
I decided I was going to make one that matched the color scheme of my living room. I used three different color yarns.
I thought that the instructions on ABM were very easy to follow. I first measured the length of my couch, cut the yarn that length, and taped it to the wall. Next, I cut out the fringe from where I hung my base to the top of the couch, then doubled it.
Along the base, I tied the fringe to the base in alternating colors about an inch or so apart from each other. Every forth knot, after starting on the first, I put an accent color on the row.
Skipping the first fringe, I took the second and third fringe and tied them in a know about an inch down, centering it between the top two knots. Next, I took the fourth and fifth fringe and tied them in a knot. Continue this till you reach the end of the row.
For the second row, I took the first and second fringe and tied them in a know about an inch down, centering it between the top two knots. Next, I took the third and forth and tied them in a knot. Continue this till you reach the end of the row.
Repeat the knots of row one, then row two. I did four rows altogether.
Finally, I readjusted the base row (it began to sag from the weight of the yarn), and then I trimmed the ends to they were even along the bottom!
Step back and enjoy! I thought this was a fun and easy idea to decorate my plan wall! The best part was I already has the supplies!
