Tired of only displaying one photo at a time? I was!
I LOVE documenting life through photos. I’ve had past relationships where my “significant” other always got upset that I was “taking too many photos and not enjoying the moment.” (That’s why they are PAST relationships.) The past year, my phone has been filled time and time again with photos of JayJay and the crafts I make sprinkled with the occasional selfie (never got that into them).
Like many before me, I’m trying to work through the pins that I’ve pinned on my Pinterest. With the new year upon me, what a great way to reminisce about the past year with this fun photo wreath!
Here is what you will need:
Clothes Pins (I bought a pack of 40)
Hot Glue Gun
10 or so of your fav. photos!
Project Time: over the weekend
Project Difficulty: Easy Peasy
Project budget: around $20
First, let’s make those glitter clothes pins! I LOVE glitter, but it always makes such a mess (crafter be warned)! I’ve discovered the trick to locking your glitter in place: Modge Podge!
On a table lined with newspaper, pour a pile of glitter the size of small plate. This will be used to dip the clothes pins.
Paint one “face” of a clothes pin with modge podge then immediately dip the modge podge side in the pile of glitter.
Set aside to dry.
Repeat this step with each clothes pin. I used two different colors of glitter. Let dry overnight.
Once your glitter clothes pins are dry, paint a layer of modge podge directly OVER the glitter. This will seal the glitter in place and prevent future messes of glitter once the project is complete. Let that dry overnight.
Paint the Styrofoam wreath with the color of your choice, and also let dry. It may take a few coats, Styrofoam can be tricky to paint.
Hot glue the clothes pins around the Styrofoam wreath in a circular pattern.
Optional: Add a decorative ribbon for hanging!
Now arrange your photos and enjoy! A little lengthy process, but the middle step of painting the glitter with modge podge secures the glitter in place and will save you a headache!
