Almost everyone who has done just 1 or 2 treks anywhere in the Indian Himalayas must have heard of the Har Ki Doon trek.Trekkers are trekking Har Ki Doon.And they are enjoying the experience of it for at least the last 50 years.
Har Ki Doon Valley sees thousands of trekkers and mountaineers walking its beautiful trails every year. Nevertheless, it remains a popular choice among all trekkers for a moderate-level trek in the Himalayas. The Himalayan peaks, flora and fauna, All trekkers need to experience the Har Ki Doon trek in terms of the gorgeous views of its villages and people, the local culture and the sheer beauty of nature just about everywhere.

BASIC DETAILS ABOUT HAR KI DUN TREK:-
Although there are enough details already available on the internet on Har Ki Doon Trek everywhere. There are also Har Ki Doon trek itineraries organized by Himalayan High, Which are probably referred for more detailed and practical information on day-to-day schedules, campsites and other natural resources available in the valley. We will still discuss some basic details about the Har Ki Doon trek itinerary here. Because this will form the basis for making a comprehensive plan for us to trek Har Ki Doon in a self-organized manner.
In a 4 day trek from Sankri to Sankri, one can manage to visit Maninda Tal or Jaundhar Glacier View Point along Har Ki Doon Valley. But this itinerary is a slightly fancier version of this trek and is recommended for regular trekkers. Even in 5 days, the same places can be seen a little more comfortably. There is another alternate itinerary which takes 7 days from Sankri to Sankri and covers the entire Har ki Doon valley as well as the adjoining Ruinsara Valley and Ruinsara Tal. This is a highly recommended itinerary by Himalayan High for all trekkers. So, overall we propose 3 different itineraries to complete the Har Ki Doon trek. You can choose any one of these as per your convenience and availability of time.
PROPOSED ITINERARIES FOR HAR KI DUN VALLEY TREK:-
There can be many different versions of the Har Ki Doon trek itinerary. Take a look below at the various possibilities and then plan your trek accordingly.
ITINERARY 1:-
4 days Sankri to Sankri and 6 days Dehradun to Dehradun.We highly recommend this itinerary. But this is a slightly fancier version of this trek. That’s why we recommend it only for regular trekkers or people with some average fitness level.
DAY 1: Drive from Dehradun to Sankri.Arrival at Sankri.
DAY 2: Drive from Sankri to Taluka,Trek from Taluka to Chillur Gad,Camping at Chillur.
DAY 3:Trek from Chillur Garh to Kalkati Dhar via Border,Camp at Kalkati Dhar
DAY 4: Trek from Calcutta Dhar to visit Har ki Doon Valley with a quick excursion to Maninda Tal and back to camp And trek to be there.
DAY 5: Trek from Halche to Taluka via Osla and Gangad,Drive from Taluka to Sankri.
DAY 6: Travel back from Sankri to Dehradun and beyond.
ITINERARY 2:-
5 days Sankri to Sankri and 7 days Dehradun to Dehradun.It is a more comfortable and easier itinerary with 1 extra day for the same trek. It is recommended for beginner trekkers or groups of families etc.
DAY 1: Drive from Dehradun to Sankri.Arrival at Sankri.
DAY 2: Drive from Sankri to Taluka,Trek from Taluka to Chillur Gad,Camp at Chillur Gad.
DAY 3:Trek from Chillur Garh to Kalkati Dhar via Border,Camp at Kalkati Dhar
DAY 4: Trek from Calcutta Dhar to visit Har ki Doon valley with a quick excursion to Maninda Tal and a view of Jaundhar Glacier. Trek back to the Kalkati Dhar camp and stay there.
DAY 5: Trek from Kalkati Dhar to Chillur Gad via Osla, camp at Chillur Gado.
DAY 6: Trek from Chillurgarh to Taluka,Drive from Taluka to Sankrik.
DAY 7: Journey and onward journey from Sankri to return to Dehradun.
ITINERARY 3:-
7 days from Sankri to Sankri and 9 days from Dehradun to Dehradun.Highly recommended for all trekkers by Himalayan High.
DAY 1: Drive from Dehradun to Sankri.Arrival at Sankri.
Day 2: Drive from Sankri to Taluka,Trek from Taluka to Chillur Gad,Camp at Chillur Gad.
DAY 3: Trek from Chillur Garh to Kalkati Dhar via Border,Camp at Kalkati Dhar
DAY 4: Trek from Kalkati Dhar to Har Ki Maninda excursion with a view of Dun Valley Tal and Jaundhar Glacier and Boslo.In return to camp.
DAY 5: Travel by foot from Boslo to the Ruinsara Valley and set up camp there.
DAY 6: Trek from Rain Basera to Ruinsara Lake and camp on the lake.
DAY 7: Trek from Ruinsara Lake to Chillur Garh via Devasu Bugyal and camp at Chillur Garh.
DAY 8: Trek from Chillurgarh to Taluka,Drive from Taluka to Sankrik.
DAY 9: Journey and onward journey from Sankri to return to Dehradun.
