These inks are dye-based (as opposed to pigment-based) and are transparent and flowy. How Do You Work With Alcohol Inks?

Fluid inks like alcohol inks can be dropped on a surface and then diluted with alcohol or a blending solution. The ink will move freely, and you can dry it using various techniques. You can also use inks using brushes, just as you would with watercolors.

After the ink has been applied, there are many ways to spread, move, and dry it. The alcohol will evaporate in a matter of seconds, and the dye will be left behind after the alcohol ink has dried. Isopropyl Alcohol: You can use 91-99% pure alcohol to spread inks. The inks can get mixed with alcohol to dilute the pigment, creating a matte look. Mixing your selected colors with a small amount of alcohol can create light shades.

The blending solution allows inks to be moved using the blending solution. It preserves ink’s glossiness, enhances transparency, and prolongs the drying time.
